WinPMail Support for NetWare NDS mode
*** Release 1.00 ***
Pegasus Mail System,
Copyright (c) 1990-96, David Harris, All Rights Reserved.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This archive contains all the files necessary to allow Pegasus Mail for Windows
version 2.23 or later to run in native NDS mode on NetWare 4.1 servers. Several
of the files in this archive are NDS-aware equivalents of standard Bindery-mode
Pegasus Mail utilities - most notably:
NNEWMAIL.EXE - reports new mail, equivalent to NEWMAIL.EXE
NPMGRANT.EXE - extended feature management, equivalent to PMGRANT.EXE
NSYNONYM.EXE - Mercury synonym database builder, equivalent to CH_SYN.EXE
The version of PCONFIG.EXE contained in this archive is a dual-mode program -
it can be used to configure either bindery-based or NDS-based versions of
Pegasus Mail.
Because NDS is a more complicated operating environment than the traditional
NetWare Bindery system, more configuration and planning is required to set up
Pegasus Mail in the NDS environment. For detailed information on the options
available to you and how to get the best operation out of Pegasus Mail in the
NDS environment, please read either README.NDS (Text format) or WPM-NDS.HLP
(Windows Help format) carefully.
Notes about this release:
------------------------
* This archive does not contain the NDS-aware version of the Mercury Mail
Transport System: to obtain the NDS-aware version of Mercury, download
Mercury v1.30 or later from the site where you found this archive.
* PEGASUS MAIL FOR DOS: An NDS-aware version of Pegasus Mail for DOS is
in development at the time of writing of this file. Watch the regular
sites for version 3.40 or later.
* NPMGRANT is not complete in this release - it does not perform any
kind of security checks and cannot currently control whether or not
a user can change his/her extended features or not (i.e, the -w and
-w- switches are non-functional).
